Canvas Intro for 7th Graders
Canvas is a Learning Management System used by teachers and students in Alpine School District.
In the Alpine School District we believe that classroom technology use can lead to deeper learning and improved student outcomes. As with everything we do, student achievement is at the center. We choose and use tools that help students engage with learning in a way that allows them to learn deeply. Students learn collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking, citizenship, and character. They become producers of information and not merely consumers. We want students to succeed in the classroom today and be ready to thrive with whatever life throws at them tomorrow.
We know that in classrooms throughout the district, no two students are alike. We each learn differently and connect to content in unique ways. The diverse tools we use in the Alpine School District allow students to be taught in multiple ways and from multiple perspectives. Students have ample opportunity to connect in ways that they learn best, increasing retention and bolstering achievement.
Technology helps instructors and students to engage with learning on a deeper level. For this reason, classrooms are equipped with projectors, smartboards, and speakers. Students have access to writing labs, Chromebooks, and IPads. Students and guests also have access to fast and reliable Internet.
