Where children build confidence in themselves through memorable outdoor learning opportunities.

Welcome to Clear Creek!

Using the Clear Creek Outdoor Education Center as a base of operations, groups from all over Alpine School District, from all disciplines, and all grade levels from fifth grade up, conduct a variety of school-year programs for students throughout the fall, winter, and spring months. These programs are organized and directed by the teachers and administration of the participating school. During the months of June, July, and August the Clear Creek Summer Camp program provides a three-day outdoor education experience available to students from every elementary school in Alpine School District during the summer after fifth grade. The summer camp program is organized and directed by appointed directors and a team of experienced certified teachers.

03

The various outdoor experiences offered to our students will introduce them to the identification and classification of trees, shrubs, rocks, aquatic macro-invertebrates, local wildlife, flowers and other range plants. They will demonstrate these skills through group games and activities, journaling of observations, and assembling personal collections.

05

Through the use of team-building games, recreation, small-group hikes, skits, and challenge activities, students will build important social skills and begin to understand how to successfully interact in collaborative situations.

02

Through investigation of local historic sites and primary source documentation, students will learn about the sacrifices and stamina of the men, women, and children who lived during industrial revolution that catapulted the United States into the modern world. They will demonstrate this knowledge in debriefings and other group discussions.

04

Students will gain an appreciation for the natural environment around them and insight into ways to enjoy, wisely use, preserve, and conserve it.

06

Every student will leave camp with new friends, new knowledge, and impactful memories.

What Else Should I Know?

01. Camp Video

Watch the Camp Video. This five-minute presentation will give you a good idea what to expect from your time at Clear Creek Summer Camp.

02. Meals

Clear Creek Summer Camp is an extension of the Alpine School District Nutritional Services. The meals there are prepared like those found in each school’s cafeteria. If your child has significant food allergies, be sure to provide detailed information during registration. Gluten-free and diabetic meals are available for students who have submitted the required medical documentation in advance to Alpine School District Nutrition Services.

In addition to these meals, the camp staff provides an evening treat each night before bedtime.

Note: The menu listed here is subject to change.

03. Camp Schedule

Review the Camp Schedule to become familiar with the activities your child will be participating in.

04. What to Pack

Carefully go over the Packing List. The packing list contains everything your son or daughter will need to have a successful experience.

– Be sure your son or daughter has a sturdy refillable water bottle. Staying hydrated is key of feeling well at camp.
– Your son or daughter may carry a small backpack onto the bus if desired, separate from the regular packed gear which will be loaded onto our supply truck at check-in.
– Medications, if any, should be given to the camp coordinator during check-in as your child receives their name tag. Please do not send any medications without consulting with the camp coordinator.

05. Parent Meetings

Consider attending one of the optional Parent Meetings. These are especially helpful for those who are sending their first child to summer camp. The camp directors will conduct these meetings, present a brief history of our camp, explain the current program and answer questions. Children coming to camp are certainly welcome.
