Safeguarding Student Data

Teachers in Alpine School District employ a variety of teaching methods and tools in the classroom.  Once a teacher determines what students are expected to learn, he/she then designs teaching strategies, learning activities and assessments that best fit the material being taught.  In the 21st century, electronic hardware and software are often (but not always) used in the process.  When used appropriately, technology helps engage students in active learning and creation and accelerates assessment and feedback.

In the use of instructional technology, Alpine School District is committed to protecting student data. Whenever a student uses a computer, tablet, or other device, we want it to be about one thing: learning. In order to safeguard our students from having their information sold to third parties for research or advertising, we insist that technology providers sign a legal non-disclosure agreement before we enter a contract for their services.  Because we feel it is important for our parents to know about the measures of due diligence we take to ensure student data is secure, a copy of the non-disclosure agreement is available below.  As individual concerns arise, parents are encouraged to work with their child’s teachers.
