LPHS Orchestra Tour

Congratulations to the members of the Lone Peak Orchestra who traveled to Washington, D.C. to compete in the World Strides Heritage Music Festival.  Choirs, Bands, Jazz Bands and Orchestras from all over the Country came to participate in this Festival.  Forty-one orchestra students from Lone Peak, and 12 ninth grade students from Mountain Ridge and Timberline combined their talents to create two orchestras in the competition.  Their performances were extraordinary, and the judges awarded them 1st and 2nd place Gold Plaques in the Orchestra Division.  They received a large trophy for the “Outstanding Orchestra” in the Festival.  Further, they were awarded the “Instrumental Sweepstakes” over other participating bands and jazz bands.  The crowning achievement was having the adjudicators name the Lone Peak Orchestras to receive the prestigious “Adjudicator’s Awards for Excellence”.  Their Gold 1st and 2nd place awards qualify them to compete in next year’s Festival of Gold in Anaheim, California.

Bravo, Orchestra students!
