Parent/Guardian Guide to Canvas Observer Accounts

Canvas Observer accounts allow guardians to monitor their student’s courses, assignments, teacher feedback, due dates, and scores. Please note that while guardians and students can see assignments and assessment scores in Canvas, they should always check Skyward for official student grades.

Parents/Guardians who wish to get an Observer Account will need to complete the steps detailed in the video/instructions below

Students will log into Canvas and generate a temporary pairing code
- For help with logging your student in, follow these instructions
Guardians will sign up for a Canvas Observer Account by clicking this link and selecting the “Parent of a Canvas User? Click Here to Create an Account” button
Register for an account and enter the pairing code
Additionally, parents and guardians can download a free Canvas Observer app for iOS and Android devices called Canvas Parent
- When prompted to find your school, type “Alpine Parent”, and sign in
You can now monitor your student’s classes, assignment due dates, teacher feedback, and more
