The Board of Education and Alpine School District (District) support and encourage the appropriate and responsible use of technology in maximizing and enhancing student learning. The District partners with parents to give choice for parents in how they monitor, control, and maintain the healthy use of technology resources.
The District will take reasonable measures to protect students and ensure technology use aligns with educational objectives. Internet safety training will be provided to all students and will include training on appropriate online behavior, cyber bullying awareness and response, and social networking. Students will be given no expectation of privacy associated with the use of District technology resources.
The District may provide resources including internet access, student accounts for learning and productivity software, access to computers or other devices, printers, servers, and other online and cloud services. These resources are provided for use at school during the school day, while some resources are also extended for use outside of the school building and school hours. Parent/Guardian consent will be required prior to student use of District-provided technology resources according to published acceptable use guidelines.
