Alpine School District

Back to School Information

Message from Superintendent Farnsworth

One of the great benefits of public education is the cyclical nature of the work. A few months ago, we graduated over 6,600 students. Later this month, we will welcome over 5,500 kindergarten students. Each school year brings a new opportunity to improve our efforts as we partner with patrons and community members to educate all students. As a district, we strive to increase student achievement and accomplish our Vision for Learning for each student. Excellence represents the quality or state of the results we hope to achieve. The specific theme for this year is Excellence at Work. Pursuing excellence is a work in progress. Excellence does not occur by chance but rather by choice–it is learned. We are committed to learning, to improving, and to excellence by doing our very best so the students we serve can become their best. May we all commit to excellence at work as we serve the students of Alpine School District.

REQUIRED TIME-SENSITIVE SKYWARD UPDATE

Parents/Guardians should complete the Student Information Update in Skyward ASAP. It can be accessed by logging into Skyward as a parent, not as a student. On August 8, 2024, accounts will be disabled for any students who have not had this process completed. This process should be done on a computer and not a mobile device. Please make sure it is complete before the start of school so students can access online resources.

Education for All Students

We strive to provide all students in our district the best educational experiences.

ASD Non-Discrimination Statement

Alpine School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, disability, age, or any other classification protected by law in its programs, activities or employment practices. For more information regarding our non-discrimination policies, click here

Child Find

We make every effort to identify, locate, and evaluate each student in our district who may have a disability and is in need of special education. These activities are referred to as “Child Find” and are required by federal law and state policy. This includes children who attend public or private schools, those being homeschooled, and children ages birth through five who attend public or private preschool/daycare programs or are at home.

If your child is having significant difficulty with communication, behavior, academic learning, fine/gross motor skills, or experiencing delayed development for his/her age, he/she may be a child with a disability that requires specialized instruction through special education.

Carson Smith Scholarship

The Carson Smith Scholarship provides tuition assistance for eligible students with disabilities not enrolled in a public school. It is designed for students who would qualify for special education and related services in public schools. Learn more about the scholarship here.

We have access to many resources to help us and our patrons keep students safe. Read more about these resources here.
