Jeanie Earl, Eaglecrest Elementary; teacher

Every year, my son has a difficult time adjusting to the new school year, often struggling during the first few weeks. However, Mrs. Earl not only helped him overcome his first-day jitters but also made school exciting and fun for him. He has developed a genuine interest in math and often talks about how much fun it is in her class. I can see that he is thriving both academically and emotionally. I am truly grateful for Mrs. Earl and so happy that she is his second-grade teacher.

Dayla Sackett, Orchard Elementary; speech therapist

Dayla is truly a remarkable speech therapist who transformed my oldest daughter’s life! She positively impacts every student she works with from her incredible patience, dedication, and innovative approach. She helped my daughter overcome Selective Mutism -a feat no one else could achieve. Dayla embodies kindness, encouragement, and selflessness, in turn, increasing confidence and inspiring students to find their voice. Her passion & dedication to students reflects in every aspect of their educational experiences. Thanks to her, students overcome challenges and thrive.

Cheryl de St. Jeor, Grovecrest Elementary; librarian

Mrs. D is the best librarian! Her way of motivating the kids to read through unique schoolwide challenges are exceptional. My three kids have truly loved her and I am grateful for her inspiring my kids to read unique books.

Beth Barber, East Shore Online; teacher

Beth is an incredible teacher. I have the pleasure of reviewing the online lessons she builds for East Shore. Her art history courses are interactive, engaging, and student focused. Every time I review a lesson I learn how to be a better teacher. She is very thoughtful about how she presents information and challenges students to think through complex issues.

Bonnie Burgener, Windsor Elementary; aide

Bonnie has been an aide at Windsor for a long time. She is very reliable and is a very hard worker. She works with students from all grade levels helping them learn to read. Bonnie is always willing to help and she knows the kids. She encourages them and helps them believe that they can do hard things. Bonnie is amazing and we are glad to have her at Windsor.

Shelese Robinson, American Fork High; teacher

Mrs. Robinson deserves this RISE award because she is one of the best and nicest health teachers in the world and in the district. She loves teaching and loves her students, loves the staff at AFHS. She is a great teacher because she really helps students to understand what to do in class. So this is why she deserves this award.

Heidi Houchin, Frontier Middle; teacher

Heidi is one of the best science teachers. She cares a lot about the students and works hard to develop fun and engaging teaching plans. She does a lot of hands-on experiments and projects. And she is brave and has lots of fun critters (not referring to kids here-LOL) in her classroom.

Shelley Fry, Viewpoint Middle; teacher

We moved to Viewpoint in the middle of the school year last year. After one semester, Mrs. Fry recognized my son’s talent in math, and made time herself to test him. He will now be switching to AP math because a teacher cared enough to find a way to make that happen.

My son adores Mrs. Workman and loves being in her class. She has created an environment where kids want to be and are able to thrive. She cares about each student as a person, as well as their academic progress. Thank you Mrs. Workman!

Jennifer Thomas, Shelley Elementary; librarian

Ms. Thomas has made the library a place where my sons love to spend time. She has plenty of things she could do after school but she allows them to come hang out and talk about books. She’s encouraged one of my sons in his writing by allowing him to put a book in circulation in the library for students to check out. She is helping both my boys develop a love for reading and writing!

Jennifer is our librarian. She puts in a lot of time and effort to make library time the best experience for everyone. She knows her books, loves the students, and is amazing with each class. She is so aware of each class and student and their needs. She makes Battle of the Books possible and I know it is a lot of work on her part. I have really appreciated the time Alex has put into coaching the AFJR girls basketball team. The girls love her because she really cares about them. I have been really impressed by her leadership and ability to keep the game fun. Some games get heated and intense but she stays calm and keeps the girls smiling. Thank you Alex!”

Lennon Byrd, American Fork Junior; teacher

Lennon has really put a lot of time and energy into the 9th grade girls basketball team. We have really appreciated her. Even being 8 months pregnant she showed up to games and practices with a good attitude and has helped the girls grow so much. Thank you, coach Byrd!

Mike Boyd, Westmore Elementary; head custodian

Most people clock in, work, and clock out. Mike has been our Custodian for 3 years, and while he diligently maintains our building, he truly cares for each of us. In elementary school, we have the unique opportunity to educate students in various ways. Mike embodies that spirit. He mentors our sweepers, guiding them towards professionalism. He interacts with students respectfully, helping them learn appropriate behavior. And when a colleague needs encouragement, Mike is always there with a kind word. He’s more than just a custodian; he’s a valuable member of our school community.

Jacob Cheney, Legacy Elementary; substitute custodian

Jacob was sent to us as a custodial sub and has become a Legacy Lion. He goes above and beyond every single day. Not only does he do his massive to do list, he helps us with anything we need. He has dressed like a pirate, danced with us at Christmas, and has helped us hang decorations. He helped set up an event last minute in the gym recently and he always has a smile on his face. Our school looks great and we love having him with us.

Heather Johnson, Saratoga Shores Elementary; teacher

Fourteen years ago, Mrs. Heather Johnson joined us at Saratoga Shores Elementary. From the moment she started, she brightened our school with her smile, dedication, and positive attitude. Throughout my career, incoming sixth graders would routinely tell me how much they enjoyed her fifth-grade class. Consequently, I always thought it would be fun to work with her. A year and a half ago, she moved up to sixth grade, and working with her has been everything I imagined—and more! She genuinely cares about her students, coworkers, and making a positive difference. Jason Langlois, Lake Mountain Middle; teacher

Jason brought a student into the counseling office to use the restroom to clean themselves up. Jason recognized the student was struggling and asked the student if they were ok. Jason then told the student to get cleaned up and then they could talk. Jason talked with the student for some time with the student appearing to feel comfortable enough with Jason to open up and share what has been bothering them. Jason listened, understood, and validated this student time and time again and may be just what the student needed at the time. Thank you, Jason.

Mr. Langlois was the one who got me into drama and stage/tech crew which has been the best decision of my life. He made drama such a fun time for everyone who was there and finally if Mr. L can see this “THE GAME”.

Printing Services is so grateful for Sandy! Sandy goes above and beyond daily! Never complains and just gets the job done. Lately, Printing Services has had a large amount of printing to be delivered to each location. Sandy is always wanting to deliver more then is asked of her as well as making stops at other locations that are not part of her normal route. She always is looking out for the best interest of teachers and students. We appreciate her kindness and hard work. Once registration is open, click “Eventbrite Registration” and select the date of your choice.

Fill in all requested student registration information and pay the required registration fee.

04.

Complete Student Information & Health Form.
