With winter months approaching, we want to take a brief moment to review with parents and students district procedures for communicating information about school schedules, school closures, or delayed start of school due to inclement weather.
If there is a decision to delay or cancel school, that decision will be made as early as possible on the day of bad weather. When bad weather moves in overnight or during the school day, the district closely monitors weather reports and road conditions by way of media outlets, as well as by district employees designated as “spotters” throughout the district area. Information about school closures/delays will be announced through School Messenger and the following media outlets:
- District website
- ASD Connect Mobile App
- District Twitter – @alpineschools
- District Facebook Page – https://www.facebook.com/Alpine.School.District
- TV stations – KSL Channel 5
- Radio stations – KSL
Please keep in mind that weather conditions can vary greatly within an area/region.
As a reminder, parents always have the option to keep their children home from school anytime they feel necessary.
