A public hearing was held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 6:00 PM at the District Office located at 575 North 100 East in American Fork. Fifty-four patrons addressed the school board regarding proposed boundary changes, consolidations, or closures.
A school board meeting followed the public hearing. The agenda for that meeting is posted below. Please note the items listed regarding the boundary studies on the agenda. Additional map options have been added reflecting the potential closures of Valley View and Sharon and the boundary recommendations associated with the potential closures of these two schools.
On Tuesday, November 29, 2022, the Board of Education approved a Districtwide Boundary Study. The information on this webpage contains detailed information regarding potential school closures, boundary changes, and consolidations that are currently under study.

Dear Parents,
As you may recall, the proposed 2022 bond was not successful. Consequently, the Alpine School District Board of Education and district staff have reviewed many options and determined a districtwide boundary study is needed to mitigate additional student enrollment and address aging buildings. Some schools are over capacity, while other schools have room for additional students. This study will facilitate the effective use of all of our existing buildings and inform where boundary changes and/or school closures are warranted.
After the initial review of the study, parents of schools that could be impacted by a boundary change or closure will receive additional information. Study outcomes may result in boundary changes impacting some schools for the 2023 school year, while others may take effect in 2024 or at a later date.
While the boundary changes may only impact a few schools throughout the district, parents must be made aware that we are studying all school enrollments and associated boundaries. Please refer to Utah State Statute 53G-4-402 (section 21), which regulates the process of boundary changes. Additional information can be found on the district boundary change webpage as it becomes available.

On Tuesday, February 28, 2023, the Board of Education voted to move various components of the General Boundary Study to a FORMAL STUDY. Because of facility age and seismic concerns, declining enrollment, and in order to provide optimal programs for all students, schools that could be impacted by the study with a closure, merger, or boundary change include the following:
